Introduction

  • The aim of this lesson is to design a Tiny House (400mm cubed) using festi.info/boxes.py
  • The house will be created using laser cut Birch wood Birch laserply - Plyco
  • The plywood pieces are glued together with PVA glue and then painted to make the wood weather proof.

Boxes.py

  • An open box was selected from the options in the web site.
  • The box was 400mm cubed.
  • Follow the specifications shown in the screen captures below.

  • Download the SVG file
  • The Burn factor needs to be modified to obtain a good / tight fit for the finger joints.
  • In this instance the best Burn factor was determined to be 0.08.
  • Burn factor is also known as Kerf in other software such as MakerCase
  • The Burn factor will also change depending on what wood is used.
